Grade Two, Group 1 has recently completed a thematic Common Core Unit called "Celebrating Uniqueness". In order to extend that unit and begin to teach students technology skills, we are working on PowerPoints about themselves. In order to teach some of the options available in PowerPoint, we have the following guidelines for them.
1. Your PowerPoint should have at least 4 slides.
2. There should be a background or color on each of the slides.
4. There should be have one clip-art per slide.
Since this is basically an introduction to PowerPoint, we are making these presentations very simple. In subsequent grades,the students will be asked to do more, but this project will create a good foundation for the students to build upon in coming years. Please note that each group is comprised of students from each of the 2nd grade classes, and I will work with each group for 5 weeks. In many cases, the Powerpoints aren't yet done, but if the student has Powerpoint at home, they can always continue working on it there, or during free times at school. The goal for this grade level is just to introduce Powerpoint and practice the most basic skills.
