INCLEMENT WEATHER
"No school", "early school closing", or "delayed school openings" will be announced on television and radio for South Kingstown School Department and by automated phone message via SCHOOL MESSENGER. It is the responsibility of families to make appropriate arrangements for their children's supervision at home.

In the event of an emergency evacuation, we will automatically relocate to a safe location. Every attempt will be made to notify as many families as possible. However; we may not have access to phones or time constraints may limit our ability to contact everyone. Students will be dismissed as usual at the end of the school day.

At Peace Dale Elementary School, we work to ensure all of our students achieve their highest level both academically and socially. We believe that all students can learn and grow in our supportive and rigorous environment. We work hard to enrich our students who are meeting grade level standards and support those who are still working to get there.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of PDES is to support our learning community to ensure that all members achieve a high level of personal and academic growth.
Faculty & Staff:
The administrative staff consists of a Principal and Assistant Principal. Our certified staff includes 23 classroom teachers grades PK-5, 6 Special Educators, 4 Reading Specialists, and 2 Math Interventionists. Our Unified Arts Staff includes 2 PE Teachers, 1 Art Teacher, 1 Music Teacher, and .5 of a Library Media Specialist. We have several para-professional aides to support teaching and learning.
Community:
Peace Dale Elementary School is located on the Atlantic Coast, 32 miles south of Providence, Rhode Island, in the historic village of Peace Dale within the Town of South Kingstown. The town covers an area of 63 square miles with a population of 30,000.
The main campus of the University of Rhode Island is within five miles of Peace Dale Elementary School. URI is a partner of PDES along with the JohnnyCake Center in our after school programming through the Learn365 grant. We are fortunate for the community's collaboration with the benefit of our students in mind.
