The 25/26 school year was a very successful one at Peace Dale! We worked hard collectively to improve our writing outcomes over the past few school years and we saw the fruits of our labor with significantly improved ELA RICAS scores. Our students and staff worked hard to meet and exceed grade level standards while keeping our days engaging and fun. We improved our PBIS system to include new and student driven incentives and competitions. We saw quick results from this with positive behavior throughout the school building.
Our daily mission is to push all of our students to their fullest potential and we continue to excel in this area with students showing high growth levels on our STAR testing. We work hard to bring students who are below the expected standard up to the expectation while continuing to challenge those who are already meeting expected academic standards. Everyone rises to the challenge and works together as a school community.
Speaking of our school community, I want to recognize our Crystal Apple winners who are the face of our school to the greater community. Mrs. Jen Mathieu and Mrs. Caitlin Restivo, who are our wonderful administrative assistants, were nominated by their colleagues for this prestigious award. The way they keep our school running while always being welcoming and supportive of all members of the Peace Dale community is why they rose to the top of nominations. We are beyond fortunate to have them at our school and this recognition is well deserved.
Furthermore, we had many fun school events this year that would not have been possible without our amazing PTO. They put in so many hours behind the scenes and fundraise to give our students opportunities to do fun things all year long. Collaboratively, we managed to fundraise enough money to install a Gaga Pit over the summer. This was inspired by some messages from students and with the input of my 5th grade student advisory.
I also want to recognize all of our outgoing students in PreK and 5th grade. We had two great promotion ceremonies for these groups of students. We are beyond proud of their accomplishments at Peace Dale and look forward to seeing their growth as they progress through their academic careers.
It was an amazing school year and one that we can build off of for future years. I look forward to an even more successful year ahead.
